Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Program has been a part of the Canadian Cadet Program for many years. This is a parrallel program to the cadet program that is available to all youth aged 14 to 25. Many of the activities enjoyed by Army Cadets also qualify youth to gain a Bronze, Silver and eventually a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. These medals are usually presented by civic officials for Bronze, Lieutenant-Govenor for Silver, and the Govenor General of Canada or a member of the Royal Family for the Gold Medal. This is a lifetime award and is held in very high regard across both Canada and the Commonwealth. Some of the required activities include physical fitness, community service, expeditions and the development of a specific skill chosen by the cadet. For more information on the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, please contact any of the cadet corps staff.
